Elm Park School Opening
On 27th September 2011, London Mayor Boris Johnson officially opened Elm Park Primary School, a brand new state-of-the-art school in the London Borough of Havering.
Joskos have been working with Elm Park Primary to help them realise their vision of a modern school providing 'ICT everywhere'. A key part of this was Joskos installing a managed wireless network, with seamless wireless coverage. Pupils and teachers can now use ICT all over the school and can walk from one room to another and even outside the school building with a portable device without losing the wireless signal.
In addition Joskos installed and commissioned the new technology including Samsung TV screens, audio visual equipment, laptop and netbook trolleys and virtualised servers, and worked with a partner company Toucan to provide a range of Apple devices including iPod touches and iMacs. Joskos is providing ongoing maintenance and support to ensure ICT not only works everywhere but also every time.
Joskos Directors Jerry O'Sullivan and Nick Madhavji attended the opening and were delighted to see the pupils effortlessly using the new technology and to hear all the positive responses from the teachers and even Boris Johnson who stated "The school now has such brilliant computers."
Elm Park Primary School has filmed their journey, illustrating how they are using their new technology to deliver a more exciting curriculum to improve learning. The videos can be found on the school website at: http://www.elmparkprimary.co.uk/The+Journey
