Joskos Director, Nick Madhavji joins Paralympic torchbearer Arun Patel in supporting the Polio Children charity
29 August 2012
Arun Patel, Chairman of Polio Children (a charity that is supported by Joskos Group) has been chosen as one of only 7 Paralympic torchbearers to carry the National Flame of England.
A proud message from Arun Patel, a polio survivor himself:
"It was with great pride that I learnt that I had been selected as one of the 7 torchbearers to showcase the opening of the Paralympic Games. This is a very rare and a highly privileged honour accorded to only a handful of torchbearers. On behalf of all the friends and supporters of Polio Children, I have accepted with great humility the responsibility of carrying the Paralympic Flame . I am extremely proud to represent England and to play my part in the opening of these 2012 Paralympics."

Arun carried the flame on 29 August 2012, at the Broadwalk, Regents Park. Supporting Arun at the event was Managing Director of Joskos Nick Madhavji who is an avid supporter of good causes for education and children; Polio Children is a charity that combines both. In addition, the Paralympic Torch that Arun carries will be making its way to the Joskos Head Office in the coming days – watch this space.
Something special we’ve organised for our supported schools:
How would you like Arun to come to your school with the Paralympic torch?
Arun has kindly agreed to visit a Joskos-supported school to share the inspirational story of his Paralympic journey and give pupils the chance to hold aloft his Paralympic torch. If your school is interested in Arun visiting your school, please email us on Olympics@joskos.com so that we can provide you with details of how to enter your school into our Olympic draw.
Congratulations Arun from everyone at Joskos.
