Wraysbury Primary School Case Study
“Joskos engineers are always ready to share knowledge”
Nicky Bouch, ICT Technician for Wraysbury Primary School, explains why the school has been very happy with the service that Joskos Solutions has provided and continues to provide:
"In 2006, we decided we needed a complete reconfiguration our ICT suite, with new PCs and a new server. We got three different contractors in to quote, and then I went to the 2007 BETT show and saw Joskos there. I really liked the PCs they had there, which were neat, smaller desktops with the base unit tucked neatly beneath the monitor which meant there was no equipment on the floor or under the desk at the children’s feet. After seeing this, I got Joskos in to give a quote.
Joskos were totally unknown to the borough, and were really an outsider. We chose Joskos because their quotes included everything, including things that we hadn’t put in the spec. They really seemed to have thought of everything and were very comprehensive in showing us all that we were going to need. They were also able to reconfigure our existing machines to work on the new network, which was very important to us as we had 20 computers that we didn’t just want to have to get rid of, like most schools we couldn't afford to do that.
Another important factor that was that Joskos would support all the IT equipment in the school, whereas many of their competitors would only support equipment that they had put in themselves.
Joskos’ price wasn’t the cheapest but their quote was so well put together, and so comprehensive that we decided they were the best company to go with.
When we came to the time to do the installation, we then found that there were no hidden extra expenses. Everything had been included in the quote and we weren’t to be charged for anything further. We had also taken references out with other schools, and this was one of the things that came up about Joskos - that they did the job as they said and there were no extras. That was very important on an educational budget.
I was here with the Joskos engineers when they were doing the installation, and learned quite a lot on site. They were very affable, friendly and professional with good knowledge. I was talking to our school bursar about them and she said she really liked them because she was never afraid to ask them a question. A lot of technical engineers can make you feel very silly and very little, and want to just show off the knowledge that you don’t have when you ask them a question, but that was not the case with Joskos engineers. They build our self esteem rather than shatter it.
We were pleased to find that Joskos engineers are always ready to share knowledge and expertise with us like this in order to help us find solutions to our problems.
I can tell that Joskos engineers have been trained in a certain way that makes them aware of our need to learn how to do things, instead of being too ‘techy’ in the way they deal with us. They always talk in a language I can understand, are willing to share their knowledge and are always very personable. This is actually very important, as you don’t see this in many engineers you get in.
I was very pleased with the range of support I can get from Joskos, whether by telephone, email or visits. I’m particularly happy that everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile.”
